Due to an amendment in the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG), all universities are obliged to have a doctoral student representation elected by the doctoral students. Since the summer semester 2016, TU Clausthal has therefore also had a doctoral student council, ProV for short. We consist of the three elected representatives of the faculties and their respective substitute.
We have set ourselves the task of not only being a council that exists on paper, but also of taking action. In concrete terms, this means that we want to improve the conditions for doctoral students at Clausthal University of Technology and prevent unnecessary additional burdens, which can arise above all from decisions made in higher education policy committees.
We also want to provide doctoral students with information that directly affects them and their doctorate. Of course, we are also to be seen as a contact point if problems arise during the doctorate.
