Faculties

Upon receiving confirmation of supervision, each doctoral candidate must submit an application for admission to the doctoral program to the Dean’s Office of the respective faculty. The faculties have set up information pages summarizing the necessary steps and documents:
- Faculty of Engineering and Economics (Faculty A)
- Faculty of Natural Sciences, Mathematics, and Computer Science (Faculty B)

Ph.D. Thesis Guide

At the end of 2020, the university published a doctoral guide that provides a helpful overview of the topic “Pursuing a Doctorate in Clausthal.” 

Graduate Academy

The Graduate Academy is the central point of contact for supporting the careers and skills of early-career researchers, including doctoral candidates. 

Among other things, it offers the following helpful services for doctoral candidates:

- Numerous professional development opportunities (dissertation defense training, writing workshops, job application training, etc.)

- General information on doctoral studies

Ombudsman Guide

In 2023, the ProV at Clausthal University of Technology developed and adopted a guide designed to assist both doctoral candidates and advisors in resolving conflicts arising from the advisor-student relationship.
